Former Crimson Tide standout, Lacy Prejean has taken the next step in her softball career as the new head coach of Northwestern State.

Prejean played for the Tide from 1999 to 2003 as a catcher, and was a part of the first ever Alabama team to make the Women's College World Series. In 2008, she returned to Tuscaloosa as a director of operations under Patrick Murphy, following a short time as an assistant for Louisiana from 2005-07.

Prejean returned to Louisiana in 2018, where she has since helped lead coach Gerry Glasco to four Sun-Belt Conference Championships, four NCAA Regionals, and the 2023 Seattle Super Regional.

The Lady Demons of Northwestern State certainly look to benefit from this hiring after finishing the 2023 season with a 25-27 record.
