Alabama Softball Names Stars of Florida Series
The Alabama softball team picked up a series win in Gainesville, Fla., this past weekend. On Tuesday, Alabama softball announced the stars of the series on social media: Bailey Dowling, Jenna Lord, Kaylee Tow, and Ashley Prange.
Shortstop Bailey Dowling had a phenomenal weekend, grabbing: four hits, three home runs, and batted five runs in. One of the three home runs was the game-winning run in Saturday's 2-1 victory to clinch the series in nine innings. Dowling is tied with catcher Ally Shipman for the most home runs this season at seven.
Designated player Jenna Lord had a stellar series as well, getting: five hits, three of those hits were doubles, and batted in four runs. Lord has a .302 batting average on the season.
First baseman Kaylee Tow picked up seven hits, batted two runs in and scored two of the Tide's runs this series. Tow is tied with Dowling for the second-most runs batted in this season at 24.
Third baseman Ashley Prange played a crucial part in Team 16's success this weekend. The Ohio State transfer had six monster hits, including three of those turning into extra base hits, and scored three of the Tide's runs. Prange is tied with Shipman for the most runs scored this season at 33.
The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team hosts the Mississippi State Bulldogs this week. The series begins Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 5 p.m. CST. Coverage will be on Me TV 97.5, or the Me TV FM app starting at 3:50 p.m. CST.
