Alabama Superstar Named First Team All-SEC
According to a league press release, the SEC has named Alabama's Mark Sears to the First Team All-SEC list.
This marks Sears' second straight All-SEC selection, as he earned All-SEC Second Team honors last season.
Sears joins Dalton Knecht (Tennessee), Johni Broome (Auburn), Zyon Pullin (Florida), Antonio Reeves (Kentucky), Tolu Smith III (Mississippi State), Zakai Zeigler (Tennessee), and Wade Taylor IV (Texas A&M) on the league's first team honors.
Sears is the only Alabama player on an All-SEC list for the 2023-2024 season.
The Muscle Shoals, Ala., native averaged 21.1 points and 4.1 assists per game on 50.6% shooting for the Crimson Tide. Sears' 21.1 was second in the SEC, only behind Tennessee Volunteer Dalton Knecht's 21.4 points per game.
This season, Sears is the only Power Five player to record 650 points, 125 assists, 120 rebounds, and 75 three-pointers.
Sears is also a finalist for multiple national awards, including the Bob Cousy Award, which annually recognizes the top point guard in the nation.
Alabama plays the winner of Missouri/Georgia and Florida at 8:30 p.m. on Friday in the SEC tournament. Listen to Alabama's first SEC tournament matchup on 95.3 The Bear.
