The college basketball regular season is coming to an end and the NCAA Tournament is right around the corner. With that being said, the Alabama men's basketball team is looking to win the SEC regular season championship with a win tomorrow night against the Auburn Tigers.

Alabama comes in to Wednesday's contest 25-4 overall and 15-1 in the SEC. The Crimson Tide earned a hard fought win on Saturday against Arkansas, thanks in large part to emergence of senior Jahvon Quinerly, who scored 16 points on 50% shooting.

Freshman Brandon Miller is looking to continue his season long success after scoring 41 points on the road and a game winning shot against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Wednesday night. Last Saturday against the Arkansas Razorbacks, Miller posted a stat line of 24 points and six rebounds.

The front runner for SEC Freshman of the year was recently snubbed of the SEC Freshman of the week honors. The award was given to Arkansas guard, Nick Smith Jr., who had 26 points against Georgia and 24 point against Alabama.

As for the Auburn Tigers, the team is coming off an embarrassing performance against the Kentucky Wildcats, in which they were routed 86-54.

With the loss against Kentucky, the Tigers tournament hopes are skating on thin ice as the team is now considered an 11 seed in the NCAA Tournament projection by Joe Lunardi. The defending SEC regular season champions are hungry for a statement win and beating Alabama would be the signature win the Tigers are looking for. Recently, Auburn has controlled the rivalry, this includes beating Alabama twice last year.
