Alabama Faces Rhode Island Without Key Player Alancia Ramsey
Alabama's women's basketball team faces Rhode Island in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 1:30 p.m. CDT on Saturday, but the Crimson Tide will be without one of their key defensive players, junior forward Alancia Ramsey. Ramsey will miss the rest of the season due to recent shoulder surgery.

Head coach Kristy Curry said Wednesday that Ramsey would not travel with the team to the tournament and will spend the remainder of the season recovering.
Before transferring to Alabama for the 2025-26 season, Ramsey played two seasons with Coastal Carolina. During her first season at Alabama, she played in 27 games, scoring a career-high 13 points against Stetson on Nov. 3 and grabbing seven rebounds against Arkansas on Jan. 4.
Ramsey missed time earlier in the season because of an injury, but this will be her longest absence.
