Alabama on the Bubble
loading...

With just three weeks remaining in the regular season, the Alabama men's basketball team is battling for a spot in the NCAA Tournament field. The Crimson Tide seems to be setting up the selection committtee for an interesting decision. Will the three bad losses (RPI 100+) at home (Mercer, Tulane, Dayton) and one bad loss on the road (Auburn) outweigh the likely top three or four finish in the SEC? That's the biggest question at this point, but with a couple big games down the stretch, Alabama can elevate its position on the bubble.

To give a sense of where Alabama stands in the minds of the experts, we have listed the projections from three top bracketologists.

Jerry Palm - CBSSports.com - One of nine teams listed as "Probably Out"

"Alabama has four bad losses, three at home, and has beaten a couple bubble teams, but nobody that's a sure thing. Also, most of their best work has been done at home. That's a lot to fix."

Joe Lunardi - ESPN.com - Lundardi lists his bubble as "Last Four In"/"First Four Out"/"Next Four Out". Bama is listed as #77 on S-Curve, which equartes to the first team AFTER the "Next Four Out."

We'll post this feature a couple of times each week leading up to the NCAA Tournament announcement.
