Birmingham Loses UFL Team as Stallions Set to Leave
According to AL.com, the Birmingham Stallions are no more, as the latest attempt at professional football in Birmingham has failed after poor attendance, lack of support, and falling short of championship expectations under former Stallions head coach Skip Holtz.

The three-time champion program was originally a member of the USFL, winning back-to-back championships before the merger with the XFL, which birthed the United Football League. The Stallions were the longest stint of professional football in Birmingham's history, lasting five seasons.
Following Skip Holtz's retirement prior to the start of last season, the Stallions hired former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron as the team's head coach. McCarron led the Stallions to a 4-6 record in his first season as the head coach.
No other announcements regarding team movement in the UFL have been made as of Thursday afternoon.
