Capstone Report with DC: Spring Practice and Alabama Misses the Big Dance
Coming off spring break, Alabama athletics will experience an active week on campus as football resumes spring practice, basketball opens NIT play Wednesday evening against Norfolk State and baseball has a four-game homestand including their first SEC home series of the year against Arkansas.
During Tuesday's "Capstone Report with DC" portion of The Blitz, former Alabama fullback Martin Houston and DC from Golden Shores Productions examined the basketball program's failure to qualify for the NCAA Tournament and the football team resuming spring practice.
As Nick Saban's football squad returns to the practice field, DC described a simple concept that he sees as the theme of the 2019 season.
"The theme going into this season is going to be team and what can you do to make the team better and being disciplined enough able to make decisions that are team decisions, not individual decisions." DC said.
Even though Tua Tagovailoa was one of college football's top quarterback a season ago, DC noted an area of improvement that he thinks will make the junior signal caller even better this season.
"He's going to be a better player this year because of his ability to make the decision between what's a better decision and what's a best decision, and I think that's where the difference comes." DC said.
Other topics discussed in this week's "Capstone Report with DC":
-Is playing in the NIT more beneficial for Alabama basketball?
-The lessons from 2018 that Alabama football will take into 2019.
-The importance of developing leadership for the upcoming season.
