Alabama Basketball Makes Top Seven for 2026 Top-30 Recruit

Nate Oats and the Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball staff, headlined by de facto general manager Preston Murphy, are hunting for elite-level prospects in the 2026 men's basketball recruiting class. On Monday, Oats and the Tide's staff made the top seven for a top-30 recruit in the 2026 recruiting class.

According to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports/Rivals, four-star small forward Christopher Washington Jr. has included the Alabama Crimson Tide in his top seven schools.

Washington is a 6-foot-8, 185-pound small forward from Gainesville, Florida. During his junior season, Washington played high school basketball at The Villages Charter School, where he scored 11 points, five rebounds, two blocks, and one assist in the lone game he played during the 2024-25 high school basketball season.

Ahead of his senior season, Washington transferred to Providence Christian Academy in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he'll start his senior season ranked as the No. 23 overall player, the No. 10 small forward, and the No. 1 player in the state of Tennessee.

According to the On3 list of top teams for Washington, Alabama is the team to beat with a 49.6% chance for the Tide to land the top player in the Volunteer state. Florida State sat in second place at 22.2% before Washington released his top seven schools.

Washington has taken one visit to Tuscaloosa so far on February 1, 2025. Alabama men's basketball defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 90-69 in the contest. He has an official visit scheduled with the Crimson Tide in the fall, scheduled for September 6, when Alabama football plays ULM.
