The Monday morning after Alabama softball secured its sixth SEC Tournament Championship, 5-time SEC Coach of the Year Patrick Murphy joined The Gary Harris Show to discuss their performance over the weekend and what's in store as they look towards the coming NCAA Regional in Tuscaloosa.

Talking with Gary Harris on Monday, Coach "Murph" said, "Just the whole week... I don't think it could've been any better. The weather was great, we didn't have any delays, we were on TV, and they [SEC Network] were able to come live and in person." Murphy added, "Everyone in the country watched great softball at our stadium and you can't get any better publicity for your program."

Alabama won three matchups in three days to secure the school's fourth SEC title of the 2020-2021 school year. The record-breaking weekend started with a 5-1 win over Kentucky, a game that included two home runs from graduate catcher Bailey Hemphill. Game two against Tennessee was put to bed by a final score of 6-5 after yet another Bailey Hemphill home run in the bottom of the 6th inning. The shot marked her 61st home run in an Alabama uniform and passed Kelly Kretschman (1998-2001) for most long balls in a career.

The final matchup on Saturday against Florida became dramatic early as Alabama took a three-run lead in the first off of errors alone. But before the weekend ended, Bama's starter for all three tournament games RHP Montana Fouts set a record as well. After well over 300+ pitches for the tournament, Fouts also managed to secure 39 strikeouts - a new SEC Tournament record - and SEC Championship MVP.

Regional sites and seeding for the NCAA Softball Tournament became official on Sunday as Alabama was dealt with a double-elimination style field, also including Alabama State, Clemson, and Troy. Since 2007, Alabama Softball has yet to lose a regional tournament.
