The Alabama Board of Trustees approved new contracts for 13 assistant coaches and staff members around Alabama football, including defensive coordinator Kane Wommack, general manager Courtney Morgan, and the three new additions to the Crimson Tide's coaching staff: offensive line coach Adrian Klemm, wide receivers coach Derrick Nix, and tight ends coach Richard Owens.

The competition committee agreed to terms on a new contract for head coach Kalen DeBoer, who will now be paid $12.5 million annually, with an increased buyout. In addition, men's basketball head coach Nate Oats is now one of the four highest-paid coaches in college basketball.

Offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, defensive line coach Freddie Roach, and running backs coach Robert Gillespie were the only on-field assistant coaches not to receive new contracts on Wednesday. All three are set to expire on February 28, 2027.

Wommack was entering the final year of a three-year contract he signed when Alabama hired him in 2024. Under his old deal, he was set to make $1.85 million in 2026. Under his new contract, an extension through the 2029 season, Wommack will make $2.35 million in 2026, $2.5 million in 2027, and $2.65 million in 2028.

Morgan received his third contract update since arriving with DeBoer in 2024, getting a raise in August 2024 from $500,000 to $775,000, with that contract set to pay him $825,000 in 2025 and $875,000 in 2026. He was extended last offseason through $875,000, and his new deal, approved on Wednesday, extends him through the 2028 season at $1.2 million per year.

New wide receivers coach Derrick Nix signed a two-year deal through February 2028 at $400,000 in 2026 and $950,000 in 2027. He replaced wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard, who took the Oregon State head coaching job last December.

New offensive line coach Adrian Klemm signed a one-year contract through February 2027 at $600,000. New tight ends coach Richard Owens signed a two-year deal through February 2028 at $550,000 annually. Klemm replaced Chris Kapilovic, who was fired with one year left on his contract, and Owens replaced Bryan Ellis, who was promoted to quarterbacks coach after Nick Sheridan took the offensive coordinator job at Michigan State.

Ellis was extended through February 2028 at $700,000 annually. Defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist was extended through February 2028 at $1.1 million in 2026 and $1.125 million in 2027. Linguist was entering the final season of his contract, which he signed last year. Safeties coach Jason Jones was extended through February 2028 at $485,000 in 2025 and $515,000 in 2027.

Linebackers coach Chuck Morrell was extended through 2028 at $700,000 annually. He was entering the final year of his previous contract with Alabama. Outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson was also extended through February 2028 at $725,000 in 2026 and $750,000 in 2028. Special teams coordinator Jay Nunez was extended through February 2028 at $475,000 annually. He was entering the final year of the deal that he signed last year.

Senior Associate Athletics Director for Health and Performance, Jeff Allen, was extended through February 2029 at $525,000 annually. He signed an extension last year at $525,000 annually through February 2028.
