Dabo Swinney Talks About Possible Return to Alabama

As bad as the Alabama Crimson Tide wants Coach Nick Saban to stay in Tuscaloosa forever, the harass reality is he can't coach forever.

Saban tenure has to come to an end sooner or later and many Crimson Tide fans and experts suggest that Clemson Tiger head coach Dabo Swinney could be a valuable replacement for Saban if he does decided to walk away from college football.

Swinney joined ESPN's Herbstreit & Fitzsimmons podcast with college football analysts Kirk Herbstreit and Ian Fitzsimmons to discuss his future at Clemson and his potential return to Alabama.

"[Clemson] They may run me out of here, they've fired Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno and you name it, so I really don't think about it," Swinney said."I just love what I do, whether or not I retire here or not, I have a long way to go. You can retire a lot worse places than Clemson, SC, this place is special. Who knows what God's got in store for me down the road. I just kind of take it one day at a time, one year at time. Who knows what  God has planned for me 10-15 years down the road will be."

Swinney continued his conversation with Herbstreit and Fitzsimmons and talked about how humbled he was that people would even suggest him for a job like Alabama, but insist that he loves it where he is now. He said you can never say never depending on the future circumstances at Clemson.

He recently joined The Blitz with Martin Houston on Tuesday where the former teammates under Coach Gene Stallings discussed their playing days at Alabama, his upbringing and coaching at Clemson. For that full interview with Dabo check out the video above.

All we can do is wonder what if for the future as Dabo prepares his team for another appearance in the College Football Playoffs as Alabama fans are currently content with the success of Coach Saban on and off the field.

If Coach Swinney wants to continue his Dabo Show in Tuscaloosa, he'll definitely have a tough act to follow.
