Florida Commit C’yontai Lewis Ruled Ineligible by the AHSAA
Tuscaloosa County transfer tight end C'yontai Lewis was ruled ineligible for 2013-14 by the Alabama High School Athletic Association due to a prior move from Greene County to Northridge High School. As a result, Northridge High School will have to forfeit every game Lewis participated in during 2012-13 in football and basketball, according to The Tuscaloosa News.
Lewis, who committed to Florida in May, told AL.com that he would be transferring from Northridge High School to Tuscaloosa County in May.
Aaron Suttles of The Tuscaloosa News spoke with Lewis Tuesday, who said a letter was sent to school informing them of the decision.
“I found out today,” Lewis told the Tuscaloosa News. “They sent a letter to the school. They said I wasn’t eligible. I really don’t understand why I wasn’t eligible, but they said I wasn’t. It was a shock to me.”
The Northridge football team finished 5-5 in 2010.
