Former Alabama DB George Teague talks the 1992 Championship Team

This weekend, the Alabama Crimson Tide will honor the 1992 National Championship team led by Coach Gene Stallings, who will be in attendance in Tuscaloosa.

Former defensive back George Teague joined The Game with Ryan Fowler to reflect on that 1992 National Championship team that defeated the Miami Hurricanes in the Sugar Bowl and also talks about the influence of his former Coach Gene Stallings.

Teague made the memorable play now known as 'The Strip' when Miami wide receiver Lamar Thomas caught a deep pass from Heisman winning quarterback Gino Torretta, but Teague caught him from behind and stripped the ball. Although the play was overturned due to an offsides penalty on Alabama, Teague prevented a potential touchdown and stopped Miami's momentum short.

He also had a 31 yard pick-six in the game that gave the Crimson Tide a 27-6 lead. Before the game, Thomas questioned the SEC as a conference and also the manhood of the defensive backs at Alabama, Teague and the secondary showed them otherwise.

He was drafted 29th overall in the first round of the NFL Draft to the Green Bay Packers and played nine season with the Packers, Cowboys and one season with the Dolphins. He finished his NFL career with 15 interceptions and two touchdowns.
