The Las Vegas Raiders are planning on putting a franchise tag on former Alabama running back Josh Jacobs if no new agreement is met, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

The fourth-year starter has been a huge asset to this Raiders franchise since being drafted as the No. 24 overall pick by the team. Since then, he has recorded 1,072 rushing attempts in his professional career for 4,740 yards and 40 touchdowns.

He was a part of the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team in 2019 and a two-time Pro Bowler, as well as First-Team All-Pro, Jim Brown Award, and won the NFL rushing title all in 2022.

Jacobs played three seasons at the Capstone, recording 251 rushing attempts for 1,491 yards, and 16 touchdowns, as well as 48 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns.

The former national champion is the second Alabama player to have a franchise tag placed on him, joining former Tide defensive lineman Daron Payne, who was tagged earlier in the week by the Washington Commanders.
