Former Bama Back Ranks No. 4 on the NFL Top 100
There's only one person on earth who can say they ran for over 2,000 yards in a season during high school, in college, and in the NFL and his name is former Alabama and current Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry. The running back position may devalued in today's NFL but the Titans certainly knows Derrick's value to team as he shouldered the load for them since joining the team in 2016. The Titans has made the playoffs three times since drafting Henry with the 45th pick in 2016.
On Saturday, Derrick Henry was named the No. 4 player in NFL on this year's Top 100 Players of 2021. This list was comprised of player rankings done by players from across the league so this shows how respected he is amongst his peers. This isn't Henry's first appearance in the top 10 as last year he finished at No. 10 in the poll.
Henry has led the NFL in all rushing categories the last two seasons earning the title of the best running back in the league. This past season he rushed for 2,027 yards making him the first person to rush for over 2,000 yards in high school, college, and the NFL. He also won the AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award this season and is a former Heisman Trophy winner and a national champion while attending the University of Alabama.
The work load may be lightened a little bit this season for Derrick Henry as the Titans added fellow Alabama alum, wide receiver Julio Jones in a offseason trade with the Atlanta Falcons. Jones joins Pro Bowl receiver AJ Brown in the receiving core giving quarterback Ryan Tannehill a dream receiving tandem. With this much fire power on offense, its going to hard to stop the Titans next season.
