Alabama in the NFL: Week 10 Recap
Week 10 is now in the books. Great games and some big upsets occurred that shook up the playoff races. Ex-Bama players had great games across this weekends slate so lets break down their performances and impacts.
Saints - 17 at Panthers - 7:
Bryce Young (Panthers) - Bryce Young had quite the struggle against this divisional rival's defense. Young completed 17/25 passes for 124 yards, no touchdowns and two turnovers. The Saints defense came to play and had great success locking up the backend and limiting the run game of the Panthers. Tough sledding for Young.
Ravens - 27 at Vikings - 19:
Derrick Henry (Ravens) - A decent game from Henry where he toted the rock 20 times for 75 yards. He did not find the end-zone, but had plenty of big plays that helped lead this team to a win against a tough Vikings defense. Henry should continue to be used heavily in the coming weeks as this Ravens team looks to make a playoff push with a favorable remaining schedule.
Will Reichard (Vikings) - Making all of his kicks in this matchup, Reichard remains a top kicker in the league. He made two 40+ yard field goals and his only extra point attempt. He continues to be one of the most reliable young kickers in a year where kickers are being picked up and dropped like hot cakes.
Eagles - 10 at Packers - 7:
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) - Despite having a costly fumble, Hurts and the Eagles were still able to punch out a tough win on the road in primetime. Hurts completed 15/26 for 123 yards and a touchdown. His lone touchdown came on a strike to DeVonta Smith to put them over the top. This offense, while struggling as of late, proves to be able to win in any scenario.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) - A great game from Smitty as he had the only touchdown on the night for the Eagles. He came away with four catches for 69 yards, and was a reliable chain mover. The touchdown grab was also an amazing catch that got the Eagles another solid win against a tough opponent.
Josh Jacobs (Packers) - Jacobs had quite the night both on the ground and through the air. He was the lone scorer for this Packers offense too, punching a tough run into the end-zone to make it a game. Jacobs had 21 carries for 74 yards while gaining another 33 yards off of five catches. Jacobs now has at least one touchdown in every game but one this season.
Players of the week: Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins) along with, Jameson Williams & Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions):
Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins) - catching five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Waddle was a big factor in why the Dolphins were able to have a huge blowout win agains the Bills. Waddle remains the top target in this offense headed by Tua Tagovailoa.
Jahmyr Gibbs & Jameson Williams (Lions) - Six catches 119 yards, and a touchdown for Williams. 15 carries 142 yards and two touchdowns, combined with another 30 receiving yards and a touchdown for Gibbs. This Lions offense saw both of these guys absolutely carve up the Commanders defense. It was the Williams and Gibbs show all night.
That does it for the week 10 recap. Check back Thursday for the week 11 outlook.
