Pittsburgh Steelers Draft Former Alabama Receiver Germie Bernard
Former Alabama wide receiver is the third Crimson Tide player taken in the 2026 NFL draft, with the Pittsburgh Steelers taking Bernard with the 15th pick in the second round, No. 47 overall.

Bernard was Alabama's top receiver as a senior last season, catching 64 passes for 864 yards and seven touchdowns, all career highs for Bernard. He also rushed the ball 18 times for 101 yards and two touchdowns, again, setting a career high in rushing attempts and yards and tying his career high in rushing scores.
His top performance as a member of the Crimson Tide came in week two of the 2025 season against the ULM Warhawks, where he caught three passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns. His only 100-yard performance for the Crimson Tide last season came in week one against Florida State, where he made eight receptions for 146 yards. He also had a 100-yard performance against the Auburn Tigers in 2024, with seven receptions for 111 yards.
Bernard joins a Steelers receiving corps that won't put a ton of pressure on him early with D.K. Metcalf and Michael Pittman as the top two options in the Steel City. While Pittsburgh is still uncertain about what it will do at quarterback as it awaits the decision of veteran Aaron Rodgers, Bernard can be a safety net for any quarterback, whether it be Rodgers, former Ohio State Buckeye Will Howard, longtime NFL backup Mason Rudolph, or a rookie.
