When you eat Golden Flake chips, do you think about 'Bear'? When you see someone in a houndstooth hat, do you hear that low, gravely voice saying, "I ain't never been nothing but a winner"?

If you do, then you may be a Bama fan. I grew up in Columbus, Mississippi and was surrounded by hardcore Mississippi State fans. Regardless of this, many years went by before I ever claimed a loyalty to any college football team.

My dad was Washington Redskins fan and raised me to like The Redskins and whoever is playing Dallas. College football never clicked with me. That is, until I went to see Alabama play Southern Miss on September 21, 2002. The Tide won 20-7 with Coach Fran at the helm. Along with a victory Alabama won a new fan that day as I was officially hooked and have been a die hard Bama fan since that day.

Now, being a late bloomer and not being a fan in the 'Bear' era of Tide football has been difficult. I've had to rely on trips to the Bryant Museum and the internet to get my education. This is where I'd like to thank Bama Goal Post and their YouTube page for putting up the documentary "The Bear: The Legend Of Coach Bryant" in six parts.

With Coach's 100th birthday coming up on September 11th, I was reminded of those videos and the story of this football legend and great man. Here are the first two installments.
