Class of 2024 in-state softball pitcher Braya Hodges has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Hodges plays for the Houston Academy Raiders out of Dothan, Ala.

As a sophomore, she pitched a perfect game, recording 18 strikeouts and aided the Raiders to the 2022 3A AHSAA state title where the Raiders beat Mobile Christian 5-3. She won the tournament's MVP award and made the 2022 Class 3A All-State Tournament Team.

"I'm incredibly exhilarated to announce I will be continuing my academic and athletics career at the University of Alabama," said Hodges. "Thank you to God, my family, my coaches,  and the Alabama softball staff for helping me achieve part of my childhood dream."

Last season, Hodges won the 3A Alabama Sports Writers Association's Softball Pitcher of the Year.

"Thank you God for this opportunity, the talents I am blessed with, and the journey you are taking me on. To my parents, thank you for pushing me to pursue this goal of mine. Without y'all I wouldn't be the athlete or person I am," said Hodges.

Hodges visited the Capstone earlier in the month when she attended an Alabama softball camp.

"Again, thank you all and most importantly... Roll Tide," said Hodges.
