I guess we all missed the memo that it is Houndstooth season in Hollywood. Seriously, it has been one celeb after another sporting their love of houndstooth. I understand; it’s a beautiful pattern. (Of course, a Crimson Tide fan would think so).

As I write this, I’m wrapped in my Black and White Houndstooth Wrap. It’s cold in the office.

Does this mean they are jumping on the Alabama Crimson Tide bandwagon or just following fashion trends? According to Mullen & Mullen, “it was developed by weavers in the Scottish Lowlands who worked with wool cloth. This type of handmade weaving started to gain worldwide popularity in the 1930s.” So, it just could mean a fashion statement.

In my opinion, celebs are jumping, claiming loyalty to the Alabama Crimson Tide. I mean seriously, why wouldn’t you? There is a long list of celebrities that are fans of the Crimson Tide like Channing Tatum, Courteney Cox, Condoleezza Rice, and more.

Next, up to a possible claim, his allegiance to the University of Alabama football program is Kanye West. How? Well, his latest haircut might further explain.

Those on Instagram say the haircut is based on the houndstooth pattern. This obviously means he is a Crimson Tide fan.

Me, I somewhat see that pattern with one eye closed.

Some are a fan of the new style. And others … not so much.

As a self-proclaimed Alabamian (I’ve lived in the state now for over 16 years) we do tend to get very excited when we see another display houndstooth.
