Time To See Alabama WR Sawyer Deerman On Saturday

I played football for the County High Wildcats in the interest of full disclosure.

This has nothing to do with the fact that Wideout Sawyer Deerman played for my alma mater.

This is about beating Kentucky, Chattanooga, Auburn and Georgia in the near future.

After that, well, we would deserve to be in the 2023 CFP.

It's also about speed, speed and more speed.

Speed kills.

The victim is typically the defense you are playing.

In the modern football game speed is more important than ever before.

Just look at former Tide QB Tua Tagovoila and his Miami Dolphins offense.

You have former Tide WR Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill and De'Von Achane all flying around the football field putting up record point totals.

The best offenses in college football are LSU, Oregon, North Carolina, Washington and Liberty.

THEY ALL HAVE WEAPONS WITH SPEED.

We just played the top offense in college football and QB Jayden Daniels gave us fits with his speed.

WE HAVE A WEAPON WITH WIDEOUT #36 SAWYER DEERMAN

This athlete did it ALL in high school and has SPEED (as well as incredible hands and athletic talent) TO BURN.

In high school, Deerman burned team after team after team with his blazing speed.

That is what we could see on Saturday afternoon with Deerman getting some chances in the game.

Reports from insiders at Tide practice have told me that Sawyer Deerman has been making multiple plays in recent days.

Coach Nick Saban and his staff are clearly not afraid to play a freshman during the season.

QB Jalen Milroe needs a quick, shifty outlet underneath he can hit when he gets in trouble.

If Sawyer Deerman gets the ball and makes ONE guy miss, the only thing they will see is the back of his jersey.

I love the way our Crimson Tide defense is playing and the incredible growth of Jalen Milroe and the offense.

Now is NOT the time to slow down and rest on our laurels.

OC Tommy Rees needs to keep being creative and making these defenses, come December and beyond (hopefully), have to "pick their poison".

One thing I do not want to see?

WR Sawyer Deerman in the transfer portal becoming a huge star for some other college football team.

It is time over these next few games to see what that weapon can do for our 2023 Alabama Crimson Tide football team.
