Tigers Enter HBCUAC Tournament on Eight Game Win Streak
Stillman College is heading into the 2026 Hope Credit Union Basketball Championship with momentum and home court on its side.
The Tigers finished the regular season on top of the HBCUAC East Division with an 18-9 overall record and a 10-2 mark in conference play.
Stillman closed the regular season on an eight game winning streak, giving Tuscaloosa fans plenty of reason to expect an aggressive postseason push when the tournament takes over Birthright Alumni Hall from February 24 through March 1.
On the floor, Josh Price has been the steady offensive leader for Stillman, averaging 14.7 points per game. He is one of four Tigers scoring in double figures, a balance that has helped Stillman control games down the stretch.

Dasean Sellers is right behind him at 13.5 points per contest and has been one of the most efficient scorers in the league, shooting 58.3 percent from the field. In the paint, Allister Dixon has been a consistent presence, leading Stillman with 7.1 rebounds per game while also ranking among the conference’s top finishers with a 66.4 percent field goal percentage.
Stillman will open its tournament run in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Thursday, facing the winner that advances out of the opening round matchups in its section of the bracket. The Tigers are looking to improve on last season’s finish after being upset in the semifinals.
Off the court, Stillman’s leadership was recognized again as head coach John Teasley repeated as HBCUAC Coach of the Year and assistant coach Montego Hoskins was named Assistant Coach of the Year. Sellers also earned Second Team All-HBCUAC honors.
