Josh Jacobs Makes His Opinion Clear on New Pro Bowl
There have been a number of new changes to the NFL’s Pro Bowl over the years, one of the biggest changes being the actual Pro Bowl game itself being changed to a flag football game.
Additionally, events like dodgeball and other smaller skills competitions have been added in recent years to try and find new ways to engage both the players and viewers of the competition.
These news changes have split not just the public opinion on the seriousness of the Pro Bowl, but the opinion of some players as well. Many players have chosen to just skip out on the games in general, citing an injury or some other cause.
Former Alabama Crimson Tide and current Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs didn’t hold back about his thoughts about the newest version of the Pro Bowl.
Jacobs told The Athletic’s Tarran Reed, “This s**t is stupid.”
Jacobs later tweeted that he would rather have the league send the selected players on a vacation and “call it a day.”
The star running back earned his second Pro Bowl selection after leading the league in rushing with 1,653 yards and adding 12 touchdowns.
Jacobs is set to become a free agent this offseason and could become one of the highest-paid running backs in football.
Although there is no simple and obvious fix to the Pro Bowl, it’s not a great look if some of the league’s biggest stars and players are voicing public opinion’s like Jacobs has.
