Joshua Primo Receives Invite to The NBA Combine
Alabama guard Joshua Primo received an invite to the NBA Combine. The combine will take place June 21-27 in Chicago at Wintrust Arena and Marriott Marquis. The combine will consist of team interviews, five-on-five games, drills, measurements and medicals.
As a freshman, Primo appeared in 30 games and made 19 starts. He averaged 8.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 43.1% from the field and 38.1% from beyond the arc.
"Primo took a back seat to a senior-laden Alabama team, serving as little more than a spot-up-3-point shooter," said ESPN NBA draft analyst Chad Ford. "Scouts that saw him in high school believe there's a lot more to his game and that he could become the type of 3-and-D wing everyone in the NBA is obsessed with finding. With great workouts, he could end up sneaking into the first round."
Primo ranked third on the team in three-point field goal percentage, second in free throw percentage and fifth in scoring. He became the fifth consecutive Alabama freshman named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
The Canadian native came to Tuscaloosa rated as a five-star prospect, the No. 5 combo guard and the No. 19 overall player in the class of 2020. Primo reclassified from a 2021 recruit and was the youngest player in college basketball this past season. He was also the youngest player invited to the Canadian National Team for the 2019 FIBA U-19 World Cup.
The NBA draft will held on July 29 and air on ESPN and ABC.
