Louisiana State Champion Danny Lewis Signs With the Tide
The Alabama Crimson Tide continues to add to its No. 2 ranked Class of 2022 signees. Three-star tight end Danny Lewis signed to the Tide on Wednesday afternoon, announcing his commitment via Instagram Live in his high school gym.
The dual threat offensive weapon played multiple positions his senior year at Westgate High School in La., and assisted his team not only in a 13-2 season, but also won the 4A Louisiana State Championship this past season.
The Louisiana native went viral in January dancing with LSU head coach Brian Kelly while on his visit to Baton Rouge. The video, poking fun at Kelly's obsession with trying to fit in with his new position in the SEC, racked up over eight-million views on social media.
ESPN 300 lists Lewis as the No. 24 prospect in the state of La., and No. 13 in tight ends-H for the class of 2022.
Lewis originally committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats in September of last year, but de-committed two days after the national championship. He received his offer from Alabama on January 19, 2022, and an official offer two days later.
Lewis picked Alabama out 22 schools, including LSU and Florida.
