Najee Harris Starts Youtube Channel
The NCAA has not approved college athletes looking to monetize their name, image and likeness quite yet, but that hasn't stopped one Alabama from making moves. Najee Harris has decided to start his own Youtube Channel and at the time of writing already has 766 subscribers.
Harris has only posted two videos so far, detailing his offseason training regimen. His most recent video is entitled "The Campaign" and shows Harris running through step ladder and running against resistance. He announces that he will use his channel to show his workout routines ahead of the 2020 season. He has been working out this summer with former Auburn running back Brad Lester.
While Harris is unable to capitalize on his Youtube channel monetarily, he can use it to boost his national exposure, helping him in a potential Heisman campaign season. Only three running backs have won the Heisman Trophy since 2000, Reggie Bush, Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry.
The popularity of Harris' young Youtube channel can serve as an example to other collegiate athletes once the NCAA allows athletes to profit off their name, image and likeness.
Harris chose to return to Tuscaloosa for his senior season with the Crimson Tide after finishing the 2019 campaign on a high note. He went over 100-yards rushing in six contests last season and cleared 120-yards rushing in each of the last two games.
Harris needs 1,215 yards rushing in 2020 to leave Tuscaloosa as the all-time leading rusher in Crimson Tide history. He rushed for 1,224 yards in 2019 and with a veteran offensive line returning in 2020 he will look to take over the top spot in Crimson Tide history.
