At nearly the half way point of spring practice, Nick Saban stepped up to microphone with has assessment of the Crimson Tide's progress through six practices this spring.

Alabama's head coach began his assessment by noting the overall improvement with the team and how pleased he has been with the team's attitude and attention to detail.

"I've really been pleased with the attitude and the way the players have been going around practice. Their energy has been really good. They're working to try to do the little things right (finish plays, pay attention to detail, learn, support each other). I'm really pleased with that." Saban said.

After missing much of the last two seasons due to injury, junior linebacker Terrell Lewis could provide an important pass rushing presence for the Crimson Tide defense this season. While touching on the work being down with Lewis's knee, Saban laid out a possible timeline for when the linebacker could return to the field.

"He'll be very, very limited all spring long. I think our goal is to get him ready for the summer, to keep on pushing him so that he'll be ready for the fall." Saban said.

Later in his remarks, Alabama's head coach talks about Josh Jobe's progress, looking for an eventual starting five along the offensive line, the impact the new assistant coaches are having in the program, the growth in Eyabi Anoma, his thoughts on Avery Johnson's departure as the Crimson Tide's men's basketball coach and what he wants to see in their first scrimmage of the spring this Saturday.
