Alabama football wrapped up the 2019 signing period with 27 signess and the top ranked recruiting according to 247 Sports and ESPN.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Nick Saban addressed reporters with his thoughts on the 2019 signing class.

All but one of the Crimson Tide's recruits earned four or five star rankings according to the major signing services.

Beyond the lofty rankings, Alabama's head football coach expressed his excitement at the quality of recruiting coming to Tuscaloosa.

"I think we're excited and very fortunate to have the kind of class, the number of quality student athletes that we have in this class and what those guys can contribute to sort of helping us continue having a successful program here both on and off the field." Saban said.

Concerning key positions in the class, Saban mentioned a couple of positions including quarterback and running back but was especially pleased at the quantity of players signed in the defensive backfield and along the line of scrimmage.

"We wanted to recruit a lot of lineman in this class and to get five offensive lineman and six defensive lineman was probably a really good thing. Felt like five defensive backs was a really good thing for us." Saban said.

Saban later touched on the signing of Ishmael Sopsher, how the new assistants helped in recruiting and how the early signing date has adjusted his approach to recruiting.
