In a Monday afternoon interview with Tide 100.9's Ryan Fowler, DeBoer shared that Rogers will be out for an extended period of time and is not expected to be ready for the start of Alabama's season on September 5 against East Carolina.

"Unfortunately, he suffered an injury that's going to take a little while to recover. It will lead into the season a little bit," DeBoer told Fowler. "He won't be ready to go right when the season starts."

DeBoer did mention that Rogers is expected to return at some point during the season, but did not give a specific timeline. Rogers suffered an injury during the first half of Alabama's A-Day scrimmage on Saturday, where he came down awkwardly on his left leg following a pass breakup by Red Morgan. Rogers was helped to the injury tent, where he did not put any weight on his left leg. A few moments later, he had a brace on his left knee and was carted to the Alabama locker room, and did not return to the scrimmage.

Rogers transferred to Alabama after spending the previous two seasons with NC State, where he caught 68 passes for 919 yards and three touchdowns during his time with the Wolfpack.
