While other schools have taken a fast and furious approach on the recruiting trail, the University of Alabama and Nick Saban have taken their foot off the gas pedal, accepting just 7 commitments to this point. However defensive tackle O.J. Smith from Bossier City, Louisiana now holds one of those coveted positions.

A six-foot-two inch, 315lbs defensive lineman, Smith is currently unranked, but chose Alabama over offers from Mississippi State, Tulane, Southern Mississippi, Louisiana-Lafayette and Texas according to Nola.com. The website also reported that the LSU Tigers were also closely monitoring his progress.

He is considered a 3-star by 24/7 sports.
