Alabama fans began to worry about the health status of sophomore wide receiver Ryan Williams on Wednesday night when Williams' name appeared on the SEC availability report for the Crimson Tide's game against the Missouri Tigers this Saturday. Williams was listed as 'probable" (indicating a 75% chance or better to play against Missouri on Saturday).

On3 Sports' Pete Nakos elaborated on the report on Thursday afternoon ahead of the Thursday availability report at 7:00 p.m. CT. In Nakos' report, he said that Williams "has tracked well this week and is expected to be available against No. 14 Missouri."

Williams, a sophomore wide receiver from Saraland, Alabama, reclassified to the 2024 recruiting class and joined the Crimson Tide as a 17-year-old freshman. He staked his claim in college football early and often as a freshman, ending the season with 48 catches for 865 yards and eight touchdowns. He was expected to make a big leap as a sophomore, but he has started the season slower than expected, with 21 catches for 336 yards and three touchdowns through Alabama's first five games of the season. He was knocked out of Alabama's 31-17 loss to Florida State in week one with a concussion, which caused him to miss the Crimson Tide's 73-0 win over ULM.

He returned to action against Wisconsin, catching five passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns against the Badgers. His most recent showing, a 30-14 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores, saw him haul in six passes for 98 yards and a touchdown. Since missing the second game of the season against ULM, Williams has caught 16 passes for 306 yards and three touchdowns.

He's emerged as the firm wide receiver two in the Alabama offense behind senior Germie Bernard, who has caught 25 passes for 392 yards and five touchdowns.

Alabama will travel to Columbia, Missouri, to take on the Missouri Tigers. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
