Third-Year WR Ryan Coleman-Williams Earns High Praise After Work During Fall Camp
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb raved about junior wide receiver Ryan Coleman Williams during his Monday media availability following the Tide's 10th practice of fall camp.

"He caught (an) 80-yard drive in practice, touchdown to finish. Unbelievable catch. Enough said," Grubb told reporters on Monday.
The junior from Saraland, Alabama, has caught 97 passes for 1,554 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career, but after a sophomore slump that included one of the highest drop rates in college football (18.9%), Coleman-Williams has put in the work ahead of potentially his final season of college football, with the Crimson Tide's coaching staff taking notice.
"Man, he's been a guy that's just been unbelievable. His growth as a person, player, his preparation has been second to nobody on this football team. He comes in here like during the summer, there was no time off. Guys go home for May. He's right here catching balls on the jugs, all the stuff. So just couldn't be more proud of that guy," Grubb said.
Coleman-Williams burst onto the scene as a true freshman, with six touchdowns in his first five games of college, including the eventual game-winner against Georgia at home, but recorded just two receiving touchdowns the remainder of the 2024 season. In 2025, his production numbers dipped, with just one 100-yard receiving performance and four touchdowns. Two came in the Tide's third game of the season against Wisconsin, when Coleman-Williams caught five passes for 165 yards and the two scores.
His 100-yard performance against the Badgers was one of two the Crimson Tide had in 2025 as the passing game fell victim to a struggling run game, with opposing defenses keying in on Coleman-Williams, Germie Bernard, and the Tide's receiving corps as Alabama struggled to run the ball all season.
Now, with a new quarterback manning the helm and numerous new faces on the offensive line, Coleman-Williams is one of just three returning starters from last season, joined by offensive lineman Michael Carroll and tight end Kaleb Edwards. As Alabama looks to return to the College Football Playoff for the second time under head coach Kalen DeBoer, the Crimson Tide will rely on the former freshman phenom to be a steady presence on offense while breaking in all the new pieces.
Alabama will return to the practice field on Tuesday, August 18, for the 11th practice of fall camp. Alabama's second scrimmage of camp will be this Thursday, August 20. The first game of the 2026 season is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, when Alabama hosts East Carolina.
