See Where Alabama Players Land On Softball America’s Preseason Top 100 List
Alabama softball is coming off of an eventful offseason following its elimination in the NCAA Tournament Regional. It is easy to see why fans are excited for the upcoming season, with the hiring of assistant coach Lance McMahon, the arrival of several transfers, and a strong incoming freshman class. Plenty of focus has been set on the Tide's fifth-year seniors, all of which have made Softball America's Preseason Top 100 list.
Starting at No. 80 is Faith Hensley. Hensley transferred out of Ball State in 2022 after being titled the MAC Player of the Year. Throughout the course of her career with the Cardinals, Hensley drove in 12 game-winning RBIs and 12 game-winning runs. After displaying an impressive performance in her Alabama debut during fall ball, fans are excited to see what she will bring to the table during the season.
Coming in at No. 65 is Ashley Prange. Prange started the 2022 season after transferring from Ohio State, and brought with her some much needed hitting skills for the Tide. Prange mainly played at third base and finished 2022 with a spot on the First Team All-SEC.
Hitting her way into No. 53 is Ally Shipman. Everybody's favorite catcher proved to be one of the biggest offensive weapons for the Tide in 2022. Shipman was responsible for eight home runs last season, as well as 46 RBIs. Fans are looking forward to sending the Tennessee transfer off on the highest note possible.
Finally at No. 9 is Montana Fouts. The ace pitcher from Grayson, Kentucky has done nothing but put on a spectacle since her debut in 2019. Fouts pitched 275 strikeouts in 2022 and helped the Crimson Tide stay alive during many close battles over the course of the season. Fouts also won a gold medal as a member of Team USA during the 2022 World Games, pitching 13 strikeouts.
With softball season only a few weeks away, Alabama fans everywhere are excited to pack the Rhoads House once again after hitting another season ticket sales record.
