On Monday Alabama guard Jaden Shackleford was named as the Southeastern Conference men’s basketball player of the week.

Shackleford scored a career high 26 points and led Alabama to a non-conference win 85-69 over East Tennessee State on December 22nd. He scored 16 of those points in the second half hitting 5 3-pointers while also contributing in rebounding with 4.

This is not the first time Shackleford has been awarded a weekly honor in his short career. Last season, Shackleford was awarded the freshman of the week award in the 2019-2020 season (February 17th, 2020).

While it has been an up and down shooting year for many members of the Crimson Tide, Alabama used the performance of Shackleford to lead them to a much needed win, and confidence going into SEC play against Ole’ Miss Tuesday night in Tuscaloosa.
