Amidst the firing of head coach Will Muschamp at South Carolina, one marquee player has decided to opt out for the remainder of the college football season. Junior CB, Jaycee Horn announced via Twitter that he'd be focusing his attention on preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Horn has seen his draft stock soar since the Gamecocks season started, and is projected by many draft analysts to be a first round pick in April for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Here's what draft analyst Joe Marino had to say about Horns game, following the teams upset win over the Auburn Tigers:

"Horn is an appealing NFL prospect because he has the physical traits needed to match up with "X" receivers at the next level. With him set to face Auburn wide receiver Seth Williams on Saturday, it was the perfect showcase game to prove his ability to take away an alpha receiver with size, ball skills, and physicality. Horn aced the test and shut down Williams. His competitive demeanor, ball skills, and man coverage ability were on full display. It was a resume game for Horn that certainly gave his draft stock a boost. "

In his three years in Columbia, Horn accumulated 69 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions. Not eye-popping numbers, but his play this year has been pretty spectacular, and scouts have plenty of film to go on.

Not everyone was happy about his decision to opt, many fans replied to his tweet saying some nasty stuff. Horn's older brother Joe didn't mince words when it came to defending his younger brother’s decision.

I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention that Jaycee is the son of former Saints WR, Joe Horn.

It's unclear what direction South Carolina will go in as they sit at 2-5 with no head coach, but don't be surprised if more players decide to opt out for the Garnet and Black.

One name to keep an eye on, is Senior WR, Shi Smith.
