Stallions Narrowly Defeat Showboats in Regular Season Finale
The Birmingham Stallions have defeated the Memphis Showboats 27-20 in their thrilling regular season finale.
This was a game where Alex McGough wasn't supposed to play the entire game in order to rest for the USFL South Division championship next Sunday. However, he went in and played like a competitor. McGough led the Stallions to victory with two touchdown passes and an interception.
The two touchdowns were caught by receiver/kick returner Deon Cain and tight end Jace Sternberger. CJ Marable also recorded a rushing touchdown.
The Stallions defense came up big with two sacks and an interception. They have been consistent throughout the season, even with important pieces out such as Scooby Wright.
With this win, the Stallions have clinched the No. 1 spot in the USFL South Division. They will play either the Houston Gamblers or the New Orleans Breakers in Protective Stadium on Sunday, June 25 at 6 p.m. CST. The game will be broadcasted live on FOX.
