Alabama evens up the Iron Bowl series.

Northridge High School sophomore and left-handed pitcher Jack Sanderson announced on his social media that he has committed to play baseball in the SEC for the Auburn Tigers. Sanderson, a 6-foot-4 left-handed pitcher caught the attention of colleges after being elevated to the Northridge varsity team late in his freshman year and playing for the East Coast Sox travel ball team.

Following a walk-off win in Thursday night's game, the Crimson Tide fell short in securing the series win over Auburn Friday night, losing 5-4.

Alabama (25-24, 8-16 SEC) regained some much needed momentum following a doubleheader sweep over Alabama A&M on Tuesday afternoon. The Crimson Tide will now hit the road to face a red hot Auburn team that recently moved into the top 25 rankings.

Things did not go to well for Alabama's baseball team on Sunday afternoon. The Crimson Tide fell to Louisiana-Lafayette, 14-2, allowing the Ragin' Cajuns to clinch the series. Now the Crimson Tide (7-4) must prepare to face Auburn on Tuesday in the 7th annual Capital City Classic, which is held yearly at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Alabama.
