Alabama Pitcher Tyler Ras Drafted By Colorado Rockies
Alabama junior pitcher Tyler Ras was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 14th Round of the MLB Draft. Ras was drafted with the No. 410 pick and became the fifth Alabama player and the third pitcher off the 2021 roster to be selected during this season's MLB Draft.
Alabama Pitcher Chase Lee Drafted By Texas Rangers
Alabama junior relief pitcher Chase Lee was drafted No. 164 overall in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers. The Rangers picked Lee with the second pick in the sixth round. Lee was Alabama's third player drafted in this year's draft and was the highest Crimson Tide relief pitcher selected since Thomas Burrows was drafted in the fourth round in 2014.
Alabama Pitcher Dylan Smith Drafted By Detroit Tigers
Alabama junior pitcher Dylan Smith was drafted with the No. 74 pick today in the 2021 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers. Smith was taken with the third pick in the third round, he is the highest Bama pitcher to be selected since Spencer Turnbull was taken in the second round in 2014.
Royals Draft Gentry
With the fourth pick in the third round, the Kansas City Royals selected outfielder, Tyler Gentry. Gentry became the second-highest outfielder selected in program history after Joe Vitiello went in the first round in 1991. Gentry is eligible to return to Alabama should he choose not to sign a professional contract.
