The nation is getting ready for the start of college football, last weekend Central Arkansas took on Austin Peay to get things started and there are several games on the schedule this weekend. While the excitement is growing, there are still concerns over coronavirus and its affects and whether it will prevent the season from taking place. TCU announced today that next week's game with SMU has been postponed due to positive tests in the TCU program.

The Big 12 decided to orchestrate a schedule that included nine conference games with one non-conference opponent. The Horned Frogs opted to matchup with the Mustangs as its non-conference opponent but now that game looks as if it is in jeopardy.

It is unclear how many have tested positive for coronavirus in the TCU program but a statement by Athletic Director Jeremiah Donati claimed that no one is currently facing serious health issues.

The Horned Frogs are scheduled to take on Iowa State in its Big 12 opener on Sept. 26 and is opting to focus on getting its players healthy and prepared for that game at this time.

While this is unfortunate news for the TCU program, the Horned Frogs did get good news today as former LSU linebacker Marcel Brooks has been granted immediate eligibility after transferring out of Baton Rouge this past July. Brooks is entering his sophomore season and was a former five-star recruit, he tallied eight tackles and 1.5 sacks in 11 games as a freshman last season.
