Trey Mullinax went into the National Championship match against Oklahoma State's number one golfer. The outcome: Mullinax won the match with an eagle on #17 of Prairie Dunes Country Club to seal the deal for the University of Alabama's second consecutive national championship.

He pulled off an impressive victory not only in the 2014 National Championship, but also in the 2013 National Championship match against the Illinois Illini. Then today, he turned around and pulled off an impressive interview. To say he was an important part of this team's success would be a great understatement.

"I kind of lost my swing for a few holes after number 10... I had to think about the reasons why I was hitting certain shots."

Mullinax was a highly recruited junior golfer coming out of high school, and head coach Jay Seawell managed to bring him to The Capstone. His four years here, he said, have been the best four years of his life, all thanks to Coach Seawell.

"Without him, I wouldn't be here today. He's been my dad away from home. He's been my mentor."

Trey was slated as the #5 golfer for the Tide at Prairie Dunes, but despite going up against Oklahoma State's #1 golfer, Ian Davis, Mullinax stepped up to the plate and delivered one of the best performances of the tournament. His clutch eagle putt will most certainly go down in Alabama golf history.

"There were a lot of emotions going through my mind. It was nice knowing we already had two points... and they [teammates Bobby Wyatt and Cory Whitsett] gave me a lot of room to breath."
