Tide’s 2026 QB Commit Finishes in Top-Ten of Elite 11 Finals Overall Performers
The Crimson Tide recently landed Jett Thomalla, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound four-star quarterback from Millard South out of Omaha, Nebraska, who flipped his commitment from Iowa State, where Thomalla was committed since April 18th, before flipping to the Tide earlier this week.

Thomalla is a talented quarterback currently ranked as the No. 13 quarterback, the No. 1 player from Nebraska, and the No. 205 prospect overall in the 2026 class, according to On3. The Tide’s newest commit was invited to the Elite 11 Finals camp at Mira Costa High School in Los Angeles, California, which hosts 20 of the top quarterbacks in the class. Many alums of this prestigious camp have become some of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and college football. Notable former Alabama quarterbacks like Bryce Young, Jalen Hurts, and Tua Tagovailoa have all participated, with Tagovailoa winning the camp MVP in 2016. Other excellent quarterbacks, such as Caleb Williams (2020) and CJ Stroud (2019), have also received the MVP award at this camp.
Thomalla demonstrated the talent and skills that impressed Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide coaching staff, leading them to fall in love with the rising senior. He had a strong performance on the first day of the camp and continued to improve on days two and three. As a result, the Tide's newest commit finished 10th on the Elite 11’s list of top overall performers.
The Crimson Tide’s newest quarterback commit for the 2026 class had a solid outing on day one, finishing ninth in the Elite 11 Finals day one standings with On3’s Keegan Pope writing that Thomalla “has shown an a-plus arm” in the opening day of the Elite 11 finals. Texas’s Dia Bell finished day one as the top-ranked quarterback of the camp.
On Wednesday night, Thomalla found his footing. The rising senior completed 18/20 passes during his Elite 11 Night 2 pro day. This was solid enough to place Thomalla fourth place as day 2 ended. According to On3, day 2’s MVP was Texas A&M’s Helaman Casuga, who also completed 18/20 of his passes on Wednesday night.
On Thursday, Thomalla concluded the three-day camp with a bang during the 7-on-7 segment. He completed 14 out of 21 passes, throwing four touchdowns and only one interception. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to give Thomalla MVP honors with Dia Bell who is a five-star quaterback committed to Texas was named MVP of the Elite 11 Finals on Thursday.
The Tide’s newest commit didn’t receive his first offer until January of this year, with Thomalla telling the media after his day one performance that “just staying on my path, you know I didn't get my first offer until January, so I just kept my head down and just kept pushing throughout my journey. I had a different journey from everyone else. I was kind of a late bloomer, so yeah, just kept my head down and kept working.”
