“South Carolina was obviously the number one team in the country,” said Alabama head coach Kristy Curry. “A lot of people have come in here and had this happen and I think it’s all about your response.”

Alabama’s Brittany Davis drained two three-pointers of her own, but the Gamecocks shot 70.0% from the field in the opening frame, taking a 36-19 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Tide struggled to find success offensively, only putting five points on the board. Megan Abrams hit the only field goal of the quarter for Alabama. South Carolina took a 53-24 lead into the break.

The Gamecocks continued to find success on the offense end in the third quarter, stretching the lead out to, 74-41, heading into the final frame.

The Tide outscored the Gamecocks, 10-9, in the fourth quarter.
