The Aliceville Yellowjackets (4-2, 2-1) went on the road to Pickens County (4-1, 3-0) to take on the Tornadoes in a rivalry game. The Yellowjackets overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to win 39-22 and give Pickens County its first loss of the season. The victory ties the all-time series between the two schools at 41-41-1.

"I never worried, I knew that once we take care of us and tighten up the mistakes we were going to take care of business at the end of the game and we did that," said Aliceville head coach Grady Griffin.

The Yellowjackets scored on its first play of the game on a double pass, quarterback Tyjarian Williams passed to Jeremiah Brewer who found Landon Bell for a 24-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring in the game.

Not long after, the Tornadoes got into the game thanks to a 23-yard pick-six from Korbit Sommerville. Pickens County kept momentum on its side by finishing the first quarter with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Javion Belle to Kemaurion Plott, giving the Tornadoes the lead.

The Yellowjackets answered midway through the second quarter with a 14-yard touchdown pass from Williams to running back Jermaine Brewer to cut the Pickens County lead to one.

The 1A home team was able to take a lead into halftime thanks in large part to its senior quarterback. Belle capitalized on positive field position late in the first half and punched the ball into the endzone from just one yard away.

The Yellowjackets came out of the second half and made sure it was one way traffic by holding the Tornadoes to zero points in the second half forcing two interceptions, two turnovers on downs and a punt.

Offensively, Aliceville cashed in on 26 consecutive points in large part due to its junior quarterback Williams, he found sophomore receiver Tyquan Simon for two touchdown passes.

Ball and Brewer both got into the endzone for a second time in the second half, Ball on a 55-yard punt return and Brewer on a 78-yard touchdown run.

"I put that loss on me, we had some success doing some things and we overthought ourselves and that one turnover turned into them getting on a run and being able to come back so I put game on myself and I won't ever let that happen again," said Pickens County head coach Michael Williams.

Pickens County will be back at home in a region game next week against Brilliant (1-4, 2-1). Aliceville will return home for a region game against Lamar County (4-1, 1-1).
