Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Tuscaloosa native Chris Youngblood earned his first start Saturday evening in Alabama's win over LSU.

"It felt good. At first, my family thought I was gonna be mad about not starting this year, but this team is wonderful." Youngblood said during the players' portion of the postgame press conference.

Youngblood started the night off hot, scoring seven of the Crimson Tide's first nine points.

Youngblood finished the night with 13 points on 50% shooting while pulling down five boards.

The Tuscaloosa native missed most of the non-conference schedule dealing with an ankle injury, first appearing in a game for the Crimson Tide in the 83-75 win over Creighton, where Youngblood scored five points in 16 minutes.
