Last night lived up to the hype.  I know some expected the game to pull away a little more than what it did, reaching into double digits, but when you get the number 2 and number 3 team in the country on the field together with a national championship on the line-that game you saw last night is exactly what you would expect.  Hats off to both teams.

Without further ado, here are the 3 quick thoughts on the SEC Championship between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs.

1. Eddie Lacy
Lacy had a lot of memorable plays, but I will never forget the way he put the team on his back late in the third quarter.  Carry after carry the ball was placed in Lacy’s hand and he delivered, gashing the Georgia defense.  After each carry he popped up more rejuvenated than before, seemingly calling for the ball again while the Bulldogs could do nothing to stop him.

2. Geno Smith’s Doesn't Play Like a Freshman
In Georgia’s opening series Aaron Murray saw one of his receivers locked up against Alabama’s true freshman, firing a pass in his direction to see if Smith was up to the challenge.  He was not only up to the challenge on that play, but all night. I’ve not left a game so impressed with a defensive back since Dee Milliner against Michigan.

3. The Youth Movement
I already mentioned Geno Smith, but I began to think about it on my drive home last night-Alabama’s freshman have played a huge role in this team’s success, especially on offense.  TJ Yeldon quietly crossed the 1,000 plateau, but also the way Amari Cooper has shouldered the load in the receiving corps. To think these guys were playing high school ball last year.
