A Way-Too-Early Point Spread is Out for Alabama-Florida State in 7 Months
It's never too early to start looking ahead to the next football season, right?
Ten days after Alabama lost in the final second of the national championship game to Clemson, some oddsmakers already have a point spread set for the 2017 season opener between the Crimson Tide and the Florida State Seminoles. As it stands in January, two months before spring practice and six months before fall camp, Alabama is a slight favorite.
We won't see any official preseason rankings for quite some time, but there's a chance that the 2017 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game could pit the No. 1 versus No. 2 teams in the country. It would be a rare opportunity to see the top two teams play in a season opener, but if odds are any indication, this will be the case on September 2.
According to Bovada, the Crimson Tide is the favorite to win the 2017 national championship with 3-1 odds while the Seminoles are second at 7-1.
Much will change between now and the fall, but the early point spread gives us something to chew on until football returns.
