Aden Holloway’s Defense Attorney Spoke with Tide 100.9 Regarding Holloway’s Case
Tide 100.9 was able to get in contact with Aden Holloway's defense attorney, Mr. Jason C. Neff, for a brief statement regarding Holloway's arrest.

Attorney Jason Neff told Tide 100.9 that the school took its proper immediate interim measures by suspending him from the team and removing him from campus pending the investigation by the UA Office of Student Conduct. He also said he and Holloway requested a hearing on the suspension, but understand that it will not happen this week, as the University of Alabama is on spring break. They are hoping for a hearing "the first of next week," after the first weekend of the NCAA tournament, with his suspension being the subject of the hearing.
Attorney Neff told Tide 100.9 that the 2.1 pounds of marijuana were strictly for personal use, with no evidence or intention of distributing. The large quantity was for personal use only. He also said that they were hoping for a preliminary hearing "in a month or so" for Holloway; with the case set to start in district court, but could transition to circuit court if Holloway is indicted by a grand jury.
Holloway was arrested on Monday and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp, which are both felonies in the state of Alabama, with the possession charge being a Class C felony. The University of Alabama released a statement on Monday afternoon regarding Holloway's arrest:
"The University is aware of the allegations and is working to gather more information. The student has been removed from campus pending further investigation by the UA Office of Student Conduct," the statement read.
Holloway was Alabama's second-leading scorer this season, averaging 16.8 points per game for the Crimson Tide while shooting 48.1% from the floor and 43.8% from three-point range. Alabama will face Hofstra in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday, March 20, at 2:15 p.m. CT, and will almost certainly be without Holloway for the duration of the tournament.
