Coming into its first road matchup, Coach Brad Bohannon's team has been on fire with the bats. Adding the win against Samford, Alabama has put up double digits runs in nine out of its 13 total games. The scoring started early and continued throughout the game. In the top of the first inning, with one runner on base, Andrew Pinckney tripled into right center field, to put Alabama up 1-0.

The story of the game though was Luke Holman. Even though he only pitched five innings total, the sophomore from Sinking Spring, Pa., pitched a no hitter. The only time Samford got on base was when Holman decided to walk a few batters. To say Holman was on fire is an understatement to his performance.

The route was on for Alabama. Through five and a half innings, Alabama scored 11 total runs. Some highlights included Jim Jarvis hitting his first home run of the season, Colby Shelton continuing his dominance by adding another multi-home run game to his stats, and Caden Rose hitting a double into right center field which brought in Max Williams and Mac Guscette.

By the bottom of the sixth inning, Alabama was in cruise control and ready to run rule the Bulldogs. The only problem was the Crimson Tide did not keep its foot on the gas. Instead of letting Holman end the game, coach Bohannon brought in Kade Woods. Samford slowly added up the runs down the stretch. After getting a few people on base, a wild pitch by Woods ended the shutout and brought in two Samford players.

The scoring did not end there though as the Bulldogs added four more runs and looked like they were stealing momentum from the Crimson Tide. Finally, after going through Woods and Zane Probst, coach Bohannon brought in Hagan Banks to ice the game.

Alabama takes on Alabama State this evening at 6 p.m. CST. Coverage will be on Tide 100.9 FM and the Tide 100.9 app which is free to download in the App Store.
