Since returning to the court for Alabama's second game against McNeese, Austin has been a huge contributor off the bench. She averages 13.8 points, 2.4 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game. Her shooting ability has steadily improved; she scored six points in her season debut against McNeese but has since reached double figures in almost every game, including a career-high 21 points against Samford on Nov. 19.

The 21-point performance, along with two rebounds and five assists, earned her the SEC honor.

On Monday, Alabama defeated Harvard 80-60 in their first road game of the season at the Pink Flamingo tournament. The Crimson Tide overcame a four-point halftime deficit by scoring 25 points in each of the final two quarters, with Austin contributing 17 total points.

Averaging 26.4 minutes per game, Austin's presence off the bench has been impactful, as she consistently enters games ready to work. With Austin on a roll, this recent honor is unlikely to be her last as she continues to make her mark during her freshman season.
